Galatasaray will soon make a decision on whether or not to pursue a move for Gary Cahill after it was confirmed he would be leaving Stamford Bridge upon his contract expiring.
According to Turkish outlet Fotospor, as cited on Sport Witness, the 34-year-old has been linked with a move to the club since last summer and the central defender is still on their radar, with manager Fatih Terim yet to decide on a move.
The Englishman is a very decorated footballer despite only featuring eight times in Chelsea 2018/19 campaign, primarily in the Europa League. He has won it all, from the League Cup to the Champions League, making nearly 300 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions during his time at the club.
Cahill has had spells at numerous other English clubs including Aston Villa, where he started his senior career, as well as spells on loan at Burnley and Sheffield United before joining Bolton Wanderers.
Galatasaray could be the next destination for the player, as the club look to improve their defence having only two recognised centre-backs in the squad.
As his contract is due to expire this summer, Cahill would be leaving on a free transfer and should he retain his form at the Turk Telecom Arena, it would be a great bit of business from the Turkish club.
Cahill last featured for Chelsea in their 3-0 win over Watford in their last home game of the season, in which the defender came on during the dying moments of the match.
