Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has been told he will not be sacked despite there being sufficient interest from other clubs.
The Italian took Chelsea to a third-place finish and in turn secured Champions League football for the West London club, something they failed to achieve last season.
The 60-year-old has also landed the club in a Europa League final against London rivals Arsenal which is scheduled to be played next week.
The Chelsea board have recognised Sarri’s successes this season and according to ESPN, the gaffer will not be dismissed, regardless of the result in Baku.
Sarri has made it clear in recent months that his intentions are to remain in West London, but ESPN also reports that he is secretly open to a move back to Italy.
Despite these latest claims from ESPN, it is being suggested that Sarri could still leave this summer, but only if another club is willing to negotiate a compensation package deal with the Blues in order to sweep Sarri from the Premier League.
It is understood that the clubs must be willing to match Sarri’s current contract in which he has signed for two years with an extra third year as an option. The contract is worth around £5 million.
