Chelsea defender could head to Serie A this summer

Inter Milan are eyeing up a summer move for Emerson Palmieri, according to Tuttosport, via Calciomercato.

The Serie A giants are looking to strengthen their squad once the season reaches its conclusion, with Mateo Kovacic also linked with a switch there.

Emerson is one of a number of left-back candidates to potentially come in this summer, with Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian another.

The 24-year-old has struggled to play regular football for the Blues this season, with Maurizio Sarri often opting for Marcos Alonso instead.

Only 10 Premier League appearances have come the Brazilian-born Italian’s way and he may feel a fresh challenge is on the cards.

His agent is believed to be pushing for an exit from Chelsea, with Inter looking increasingly as though they could be one of his most likely destinations.

Emerson will hope that he can still play a part at the end of this season, as Sarri’s men go for Europa League glory.
