On the back of three defeats, Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow today with the news that Aaron Ramsey will not play again for the rest of this season.
The Welshman picked up a hamstring injury in the Europa League victory against Napoli in Naples, and has subsequently seen his time at Arsenal end prematurely – before joining Juventus on a free this summer.
Gunners fans will not forget what Aaron Ramsey has done for the club, and holds the current record of Arsenal’s longest-serving player, since signing from Cardiff City in 2008.
There was hope, report BBC Football, that Aaron Ramsey would have been able to return before the end of the season, but his recovery will take longer than expected.
Arsenal themselves issued an update saying that the midfielder will “receive treatment and further assessment” on the hamstring injury, but it’s reported it’s a season ender.
Despite agreeing terms with Juventus earlier in the year, manager Unai Emery has continued to play Ramsey in key matches and the Welshman has come up with some big performances – scoring one of the goals in the Europa League quarter-final victory against Napoli.
With over 370 appearances for Arsenal, 65 goals and 65 assists, and three FA Cup victories, Aaron Ramsey will not soon be forgotten by the Gunners faithful.
