Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested he will pick his starting XI based on who is the most fit ahead of a congested fixture list.
The Norwegian has to have his players ready to face Everton, Manchester City and Chelsea all in the same of a week having just gotten knocked out by Barcelona from the Champions League.
United have looked a shadow of themselves of late with many fans suggesting it’s due to the lack of rest for the players.
Solskjaer’s men haven’t appeared to have physically adapted to his tactics just yet and it seems as though that is what he’s suggesting as well.
The Red Devils have been accused of not maintaining the same energy levels that got the former Molde man the job permanently in the first place.
According to Sky Sports, Ole said: “It’s my job to mentally get the players back on track and ready for the game on Sunday.
“We’ve got a week leading up to Huddersfield, and we need to get the level back to where we started against Barcelona – it was a great 15 minutes.
“If we do that consistently, I’m sure we can get a good performance. We’ve got Everton, City, Chelsea, and I’ve got to decide if we’ve got enough energy to play the same team over those three games.
“I’ve got to decide if we mix or rest players, freshen it up, so you’re head never stops working.”
Manchester United used to have countless players making runs for the ball and plenty of the players getting into the opposition box as well.
It’s mostly why they did so well at the start of Solskjaer’s reign and why they scored so many goals.
However, with each passing game and United’s energy levels draining, the players have slowly regressed into the slow, pointless tactics that lost Jose Mourinho his job.
