Manchester United man Mike Phelan is reportedly hatching a plan to return the club to the top of English football.
United have struggled to have any measure of consistent success since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement with the conclusion of this season seeing them drop back down to Europa League football.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the latest manager to be brought in to try to turn the situation around and there have been signs of potential success.
The Norwegian led United fantastically well during his interim appointment but once his rule was made more permanent, form began to drop off.
Solskjaer has a lot of work to do to bring an average squad back up to the club’s former high standards with many expecting several changes this summer.
According to the Daily Star, the Sunday People report that Mike is keen on making changes to the Red Devils current scouting network after some poor recruitment over the past few years.
Ole will have the opportunity to right the wrongs of his predecessors and he’ll be hoping his players can kick off the next season strongly.
Sorting out the scouting network should hopefully solve the problem of United being beaten to better talent by their rivals.
