Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted to looking forward to pre-season following his side’s heavy defeat to Everton.
The Norwegian’s players put in their worst shift of the season, losing 4-0 to the home side, putting their top four hopes at a huge risk.
United knew they needed all three points with Tottenham losing to Manchester City on Saturday but they couldn’t even get on the scoresheet.
Solskjaer knows much of his squad isn’t up to scratch but he has cautioned fans that it will take time to turn things around.
The Red Devils certainly need a few top quality additions this summer but more importantly they’ll have to ensure they’re smart decisions.

Many supporters have pointed out just how leggy the squad have looked in recent matches with some believing the famous comeback win over PSG was the main culprit.
So much energy was expended in that fixture that Manchester United have failed to recover since.
The dip in form started from then and peaked with the heavy defeat to Everton but more difficult challenges are on the horizon.
Both Manchester City and Chelsea are up next and there’s hardly any time to rest for United’s tired squad.
