Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Marcus Rashford to work on scoring more ugly goals at Manchester United.
The 21-year-old, with the eyes of the world on him, scored his first ever penalty for Manchester United to dramatically knock Paris Saint Germain out of the Champions League in injury time.
Man United had got to within a goal of qualifying for the quarter-finals through two brilliant poacher goals from Romelu Lukaku, who took advantage of Thilo Kehrer’s loose back-pass and then Gianluigi Buffon’s spill to claim a brace in the first half.
And Solskjaer, speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash with Arsenal, called on the youngster to improve on that side of his game.
Ole: “I keep battering him with it, he should score as many goals as Rom, those simple taps in, like Rom scored in the last few games. You saw the change in Cristiano’s goals, he scores from within the box, that’s what Rashy has to improve as well.” #mufc [MUTV]

Lukaku was in the right place at the right time to score twice against PSG. Not because he just ‘happened’ to be there. Getting in those positions, being the first to react, constitutes a fine art form of finishing mastered by only the truly world-class strikers.
The Belgian displayed on Wednesday why he belongs in that category. Rashford, four years younger, brings a greater wow-factor to his performances but still lacks the intuition in the box – only gained through consistently playing at the highest level – in games like the one he decided in Paris.
Like with any talented footballer, that aspect to his game will no doubt develop.
