Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Alexis Sanchez remains ‘a few weeks’ away from recovering from injury.
The Chilean, just two goals to his name all season, has continually flitted in and out of the team with injury problems both before and after the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
His latest knock was a knee ligament injury sustained during a 3-2 win over Southampton in the Premier League. Solskjaer confirmed after that Sanchez would be out for around six weeks.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, the boss revealed Sanchez would return to action for clashes against Everton, Manchester City and Chelsea at the end of April.
Ole: “Alexis? He’s coming back on Sunday, he’s not been on grass yet. He’s still a few weeks away. City, Everton, Chelsea, that’ll be the period he’ll be available.” #mufc [MU]

This time period, interestingly enough, is also when United will be playing the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
Sanchez’s one big moment this season – his only moment, really – was scoring against Arsenal, his former club, to knock them out of the FA Cup. Perhaps the stars can align once again against another former club in a cup competition – this time on a nuclear scale.
He has a habit – although not really at Old Trafford – of ramping up another gear in certain high-pressure environments. Perhaps the cauldron of the Camp Nou will switch a flick in his head.
