Manchester United star Paul Pogba has insisted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deserves the permanent job, joining a host of his teammates in praising the caretaker manager.
The Norwegian took over from Jose Mourinho who was sacked back in December and has only suffered three losses since.
One loss didn’t end up mattering as United managed to overturn it in a historic win over PSG in the Champions League.
It’s actually the club’s most recent, back to back losses against Arsenal and Wolves that has disappointed fans with a small amount of them losing faith in Solskjaer.
Pogba though has reiterated how the rest of the dressing room feels, claiming the former Molde man deserves the permanent position for giving confidence to the players.
According to Sky Sports, Paul said: Pogba: “When a player is happy, he wants to keep being happy. Solskjær deserves it. He knows the club, he knows everything about the club.
“He is a really happy coach that gave confidence back to the players. This gave us freedom to play and enjoy football again, because maybe we lost that with the results we had before.”
It’s no surprise the Frenchman has backed Solskjaer for the permanent position given their history with each other.
The former striker coached Pogba when he used to play for Manchester United’s academy and it’s said the pair still have a fantastic relationship.
Reports surfaced claiming Ole will be handed the permanent role during the ongoing international break as it won’t prove to be a distraction.
The majority of supporters still want their club icon to remain and believe he will move on from the blip he’s suffered.
