Manchester United chiefs are reportedly pleased with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for numerous reasons but in particular for his defensive work.
The Norwegian has been known for his attacking tactics with fans praising the style of play implemented since his arrival.
However, the former Molde man has also shored up United’s defence with supporters not as nervous as they were before when teams attacked them.
Solskjaer’s fantastic results have come from improving both areas of the field and fans are excited to see what he can do next.
Questions still remain over whether he can take the team to the next level but for now, both the fans and the board are happy with his work.
According to the Daily Mail, the board are pleased with Ole as they feel he’s saved them £50m by tightening up the defence, particularly ending the debate over a new centre-back.
The Manchester United chiefs were reportedly previously opposed to Jose Mourinho signing a new centre-back after bringing in two (at the time) youngsters in Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof.
The latter has improved tremendously this season and there’s a belief that there isn’t such a desperate need to invest in a new centre-back once again.
