Manchester United star David de Gea has reportedly once again been made Real Madrid’s number one target for the summer since Zinedine Zidane has returned.
The Frenchman has taken over the Spanish giants once more which has seen some players’ futures look secure while others less so.
De Gea has been on Madrid’s radar for quite some time now and with just a year left on his current deal, the time to strike may be now.
United have struggled to tie the Spaniard down as negotiations have consistently broken down as both parties fail to see eye to eye.
The former Atletico Madrid man is said to have wanted to be made the club’s highest earner- something they’re reluctant on doing.
According to TalkSPORT, the Mirror report that Zinedine wants David as a replacement to Thibaut Courtois since he doesn’t trust the Belgian and has made the Red Devil star his main target for the summer.
The likelihood the above report is true is rather low as even Real Madrid wouldn’t be crazy enough to invest a lot of money into a new goalkeeper just months after spending close to £60m on the former Chelsea man.
Manchester United though should be concerned as clubs are likely to line up to sign De Gea so it would be wise to give him whatever he wants to secure his long-term future.
