Ross Barkley was booed on his return to Goodison Park as Chelsea travelled to Everton on Sunday afternoon.
The midfielder came through the ranks for the Toffees before moving to Stamford Bridge in a £15million move in last season’s January transfer window, and had been expected to receive a mixed reception in his first game back since his departure.
However, according to Goal correspondent Nizaar Kinsella, Barkley’s name was booed around Goodison Park as the Chelsea starting lineup was announced in the ground.

The midfielder has endured a tricky spell following his move to Chelsea after failing to make an immediate impact under former manager Antonio Conte.
However Barkley has seen his first team involvement increase under new boss Maurizio Sarri, and the 25-year-old has been rotated in and out of the Blues’ starting lineup this season.
The midfielder has featured 23 times for Chelsea in the league, as well as eight appearances in the Europa League, scoring five times and creating four assists.
