Chelsea are reportedly staging talks with Lille chief Luis Campos as they step up their search for a new sporting director.
The Blues, according to a report from France Football, as cited by Metro, have already opened negotiations with the transfer guru, with the club’s infrastructure likely to undergo some changes.
Michael Emenalo was relieved of his duties as the club’s sporting director in 2017, leaving Chelsea’s club director Marina Granovskaia to oversee their business in the transfer market.
However, the Blues now face two windows without the ability to sign new players after they were hit with a transfer ban, and this has led them to consider their options within the top brass.
Chelsea appear to have lined up Campos as a primary target following his impressive work in the transfer market with Lille in recent times, and also his stellar work at AS Monaco before his move.
His eye for talent has played a part in the French club’s rise to second place in the Ligue 1 table, with Christophe Galtier’s side only trailing Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the league.
