Arsenal were reportedly hugely keen on signing PSG star Christopher Nkunku on deadline day but will try again in the summer (via Sport Witness).
It was a decent deadline day for Arsenal as the Gunners secured the signing of Denis Suarez on loan from FC Barcelona.
However, many Arsenal fans were a little disappointed not to bring in another player during the January window.
Christopher Nkunku was one of the names towards the top of the list after playing under Unai Emery while at Paris Saint-Germain.
Nkunku’s agent confirmed Arsenal’s interest earlier in the week and now, this has been reiterated by reports in France.
L’Equipe has confirmed that the Gunners were ‘very interested’ in signing Nkunku on deadline day but that the deal was undone by Arsenal’s financial restrictions.
The money issues on Arsenal will be lifted in the summer and there are suggestions that the Gunners will look back into the possibility of signing Christopher Nkunku then. The youngster seems like a solid prospect and Arsenal could arrange a good deal given the fact his PSG contract expires in 2020.
