Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has joined his other team-mates in praising fairly new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s impact on the club.
Not only has the Englishman done so but he’s also explained just what the main difference between the Norwegian and former boss Jose Mourinho is.
The Portuguese manager was often accused of being too defensive and for failing to make a true impression on United despite being there for a few years.
Solskjaer has only been at Old Trafford for a few weeks but has overseen eight wins out of eight with two impressive ones over top four rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.
Lingard insists the cause for the turn in form is all down to the change in mindset with the Red Devils returning to their attacking roots.
According to the Daily Star, Jesse said: “Ole has been great since he came in. He’s given a lot of advice and he’s let us play free which has been amazing.
“Of course, football you want to play with freedom and play with that smile on your face. He’s let us do that.
“Attacking football, just playing the ball forward as soon as you can. Scoring as many goals as you can.
“He knows that if they score one, we’ll score two and he’s always had that mindset.”
Ole’s decision to play on the front foot has actually helped conceal Manchester United’s rather shaky defence.
However, the former Molde manager has shown his ability to play counter-attacking football when necessary as he did against Spurs and the Gunners.
Another criticism thrown at Mourinho was United’s lack of identity and Solskjaer has addressed that issue by being clear on what to expect from his sides.
