Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater has reportedly emerged as a target for Fenerbahce.
According to claims from Italian news outlet Calciomercato, the England international has been lined up for a January switch to Turkey as first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge continue to elude him.
The central midfield player joined Chelsea in a deal worth £35 million from Leicester City in 2017 but has failed to establish himself at the club, operating as a rotational option under both Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri.
With competition for places in the Blues’ midfield fierce, Drinkwater has not had a look-in this season, prompting speculation surrounding his future at the club.
Fulham had been linked with a move to rescue the 28-year-old from his struggles, but according to recent reports, Chelsea have not yet received offers for the player this month.
Should Drinkwater complete a move to Fenerbahce, he will be the second Blues player to join them in January following Victor Moses short-term loan move.
