Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud is not ruling out a return to France following the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain.
Giroud has scored once in 18 Premier League appearances this season and now has to compete with Higuain for a starting place.
The striker claims that he has never said no to Marseille or Lyon, but he would prefer to stay in the Premier League with Chelsea.
Higuain made his debut for Chelsea on Sunday as he played 80 minutes in a 3-0 win over Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.
Giroud came on for Higuain and picked up an assist as he teed up Willian to fire into the bottom corner from distance.
Speaking to GOAL, Giroud said this:
If the club decides to get another striker, like Higuain, it will certainly darken my future at Chelsea.
I’ve never said no to a return to France. Lyon and Marseille are two great clubs. My priority is to stay in the Premier League though.
The French forward has scored ten goals in 45 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Arsenal in January 2018.
