Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised his stars for giving him his dream managerial debut after the 5-1 win over Cardiff City on Saturday.
The Norwegian is in the role on a temporary basis having been handed the title of caretaker manager after Jose Mourinho’s recent dismissal.
The Portuguese lost his job following United’s defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool as tensions reached an all time high.
Solskjaer only had a few days to prepare his team for the clash against Cardiff but the change in mood and style of football was already evident.
Many praised the club legend for his early efforts but the former striker insisted on passing the praise on to his players.
Solskjaer: “They’ve done it. The players have done it. I’ve never put an XI player team like this out on the pitch before.”
Love how Ole praises his players at every given opportunity. Makes it all about the players and not himself. Class act. #mufc pic.twitter.com/qMYjM8KZEb

Fans responded positively to Ole’s comments and felt it was a breath of fresh air given how Mourinho always seemed to find someone to throw under the bus, sometimes even after a win.
It’s obviously still very early days in the club legend’s reign and there’s certainly plenty to improve upon.
Perhaps the most positive aspect during the 5-1 win was how the team responded to conceding when they were 2-0 up.
In the past they may have crumbled and lost some or all the points but this time around they pressed on, turning the match into an emphatic victory.
