Maurizio Sarri appears ready to take Chelsea’s pursuit of Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj into his own hands.
According to Rai Sport, as cited on Calciomercato, the Chelsea head coach has personally contacted the player’s agent to discuss a potential move to Stamford Bridge.
The defender has been heavily linked with a move to London since Sarri took the job after leaving Napoli.
The Albanian was a favourite under Sarri in Naples and he is keen for the defender to follow him to Chelsea.
Sarri’s actions appear to have angered those at Napoli, with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis unhappy with what many would consider as an underhand tactic.
Hysaj’s agent himself has talked up the move to Stamford Bridge, with the player still yet to commit to a new contract in Italy.
Napoli are keen to keep the player beyond the end of the January window but could look to cash in at the end of the season.
