Former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has revealed the players weren’t happy with Jose Mourinho which ultimately led to his sacking.
The Portuguese boss lost his job in the wake of the defeat to Liverpool and was replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as caretaker manager.
The Norwegian kicked off his reign in style as United beat Cardiff 5-1 while they played some fantastic passages of football.
Rooney played under Mourinho’s management for one season but has kept in touch with the some of the players who are still present.
The former Real Madrid man has opted to remain quiet on the ongoings of the club during his era but some others haven’t followed suit.
Rooney: “The big thing with Jose was the communication with the players. I know the players weren’t happy with that.” #mufc [BT]

Perhaps Jose didn’t communicate enough with his players which is a little unusual given how he often spent press conferences discussing them, even throwing them under the bus occasionally.
Fans were increasingly frustrated not just with his methods in the pitch but also off it with some feeling as though he wanted to get fired.
Whatever happened no longer matters as everyone will look forward to a new beginning under someone who supporters already love.
Rooney himself has had plenty positive things to say about Solskjaer and the hope is matters can remain that way.
