AC Milan are still falling short of Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas’ wage demands, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The Italian news outlet have delivered an update on the Serie A giants’ pursuit of the Spaniard, whose future at Stamford Bridge has come under scrutiny in recent times.
Fabregas has fallen out of favour under Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, with first-team opportunities made harder this season by the summer arrivals of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.
This has led to speculation surrounding his future in West London, with Milan emerging as leading candidates to secure his signature.
However, despite staging talks with the midfielder’s entourage for longer than a month, Calciomercato states, there is still some distance between the parties.
It is claimed that Fabregas is demanding in excess of the €5 million per season that Milan are currently offering, with Chelsea also keen to recoup more than €3 million for their experienced player.
Fabregas is evidently a top target for Milan as the January transfer window edges closer. Despite this, they’ll need to put up more money if they are to land the ex-Arsenal star, it seems.
