David de Gea 6- Reliable as always but no real difficult saves to make. Will be disappointed to not keep the well sought after clean sheet.
Ashley Young 6- Got forward at every opportunity and wasn’t really challenged defensively.
Eric Bailly 5- Was solid but rusty before being sent off. His rashness needs to be cut out of his game for him to develop further. Opportunity squandered.
Victor Lindelof 7- Played well with Bailly and carried the ball forwards well too. Passing was neat and always with a purpose.
Luke Shaw 7- Given freedom to get forward and took advantage of it. Could form a great partnership with Anthony Martial.
Ander Herrera 8- As energetic as ever, giving a good balance to the midfield but also provided a delightful assist for Paul Pogba.
Nemanja Matic 7- Always present to protect his defenders but his revival under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been fantastic as well.
Paul Pogba 10- What more could one ask from the Frenchman? Man of the match without a doubt and not just for the brace he scored but for the beautiful passing on show as well that resulted in an assist.
Anthony Martial 8- Whenever United are in their free-flowing best, the winger always seem to be at the centre of it. Solid return to the starting XI.
Jesse Lingard 6- Not a poor game but not a great one either. Was a bit stop start and will be hoping for more next time out.
Marcus Rashford 8- Ran himself into the ground and deservedly got a goal to go alongside his fantastic assist for Pogba’s opener. Romelu Lukaku should be scared.
Substitutes
Romelu Lukaku 7- Made sure he made an impact off the bench to keep Rashford on his toes. Well taken goal and hopefully one of many more to come.
