Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has provided a worrying update on the injury picked up by Hector Bellerin on Sunday afternoon (via Arsenal.com).
It was probably Unai Emery’s worst day as Arsenal head coach yesterday as the Gunners’ 22-match unbeaten run came to an end.
Arsenal lost 3-2 to Southampton in a Premier League performance which was riddled with mistakes at both ends of the pitch.
The Gunners played with a makeshift defence which was forced into more changes following an injury to Hector Bellerin.
“We need every player. Bellerin has a small injury – he is going to be some weeks off I think,” Unai Emery said after the match.
“Sokratis is coming back and we will see how Mustafi and Kolasinac are, and it is good news Koscielny can be with us for the next matches. It is not a good result but it was important for us [to have them back].”
Reports suggest that Hector Bellerin will miss the next six weeks with an injury which will be disastrous for the Gunners. The Spaniard has been a mainstay in the Premier League and a consistently strong performer each week. To lose him at such a key time is bad news.
