Chelsea given comfortable FA Cup third round draw

Chelsea have discovered who they will face in the third round of the FA Cup as they begin their defence of the trophy.

The draw for the next group of fixtures took place on Monday evening and it was revealed that the Blues will face Nottingham Forest at home.

Maurizio Sarri and his side are likely to be focused on competing primarily in the Premier League and Europa League this term. However, the opportunity to win silverware could present itself to the Italian, courtesy of the FA Cup.

Chelsea will lock horns with Forest in the opening weekend of the New Year, with Sarri likely to use the fixture as an opportunity to rest key players and hand some of those on the fringes of the team chances to impress.
