Jose Mourinho cupped his hand to his ear at the full time whistle following a truly sensational 2-1 win over Juventus in Turin.
The Portuguese watched on as Juventus, following an even start, dominated the game and went ahead through Cristiano Ronaldo.
He introduced Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini for latter stages and, in a remarkable turnaround, the former netted a superb free-kick before Manchester United grabbed a late winner via an Ashley Young free-kick.
At the full time whistle, Mourinho, in his typically polite and understated way, asked Juventus supporters – who had enjoyed taunting him at Old Trafford – why they had suddenly gone so quiet.

From the very start, this felt like a vintage Mourinho performance. Massive game. Awesome stadium. Underdog status. A clear, water-tight game-plan in store.
United safely negotiated the first half and, crucially, managed to remain in the game even after Ronaldo’s goal gave Juventus the lead and sent them into the ascendancy. They stuck in there, weathering pressure, rolling with the punches.
And when their moment came, United took it. Juventus sat back. Anthony Martial got on the ball more. Mata equalised. Suddenly, the game was there for them to take, which they duly did in true Mourinho, smash and grab fashion.
That cupped ear at the end was the cherry on top of a vintage Mourinho display.
