Manchester United star Ander Herrera made a real case for himself to start the derby against Manchester City next weekend after his solid performance vs Juventus last night.
The Spaniard changed the game after coming on against Bournemouth last week and was rewarded with a start against the Italian champions.
It’s safe to say he repaid the faith with another outstanding display, making him undroppable in the clash against City.
Though many of United’s other players will gain plaudits, such as Juan Mata, Victor Lindelof and Anthony Martial, Herrera also deserves his own special praise.
The balance the former Atletico Bilbao man provides to the midfield has proven crucial and as they say, the stats don’t lie.

The Sky Blues will probably have the bulk of possession as they normally do and so Ander’s dirty work will be necessary.
The tackles, clearances and ball recoveries speak for themselves but his neat passing is also a compliment to him.
Not only will Herrera regain possession but he will also retain it which is particularly important in the middle of the pitch.
The whole team were nitty gritty in the 2-1 win against Juventus but would that have been the case if the midfielder wasn’t on the field?
