Michy Batshuayi has distanced himself from rumours of an early Chelsea return, admitting he wants to see out the season at Valencia.
The Belgian international has struggled since making the move to La Liga and it has been suggested he could make a return to London before heading elsewhere for the second half of the season.
Speaking to reporters about his immediate future, as reported by FourFourTwo, Batshuayi was clear in his intentions.
On my departure from Valencia, there are only rumours. I have no problem with the club and I understand the coach [Marcelino] very well. We are in a bad phase, but we will continue working to overcome the slump.
Many were surprised to see Chelsea loan the striker out over the summer after the form he showed in Germany for Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season.
It is yet to be seen if the former Marseille man is in Maurizio Sarri’s plans but with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud’s positions still in question, Batshuayi may feel hard done by that he is not being given a chance to prove his worth in London.
