Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he misses playing alongside England legend Wayne Rooney.
The two icons of the game currently ply their trades at very different levels despite being of the same age.
At 33 years old Ronaldo just secured a huge move to Serie A champions Juventus while Rooney recently transferred to MLS side DC United.
While together at United the duo formed a dynamic partnership that often tore opposition defences to shreds with it’s raw pace and power.
Wayne though has also kickstarted his career abroad in fantastic fashion, dragging his new side from the bottom of the table to the play-off spots.
According to the Mirror, Cristiano said to Goalhanger films: “For me the power of Wayne Rooney is his mentality and strength. He never stops, he always runs, helps the team.
“He’s a fantastic team player and he scores goals. He scored important goals, for me he’s fantastic. He was the kid of England.
“Everyone loved him. He is a fantastic boy, fantastic player. I used to call him, between me and my mates, the pit bull.
“I remember when he lost the ball he was so powerful, a strong guy, he shoots unbelievable.
“He scored many goals, what can I say? I miss playing with him. The future nobody knows. Maybe we’ll play one day together again.”
It would make sense the only way the two could potentially link up together would be in the MLS though it could be further down in the future.
If Rooney hasn’t retired a few years down the line then perhaps Ronaldo would make the leap across the pond to the USA after he’s done with his Italian adventure.
The Portuguese hero had previously discussed his desire to play until around the age of 40 and based on current form, who’s to say that’s not possible given all he’s done.
