Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez has potentially played a role in the club’s inability to tie down David de Gea and Anthony Martial according to reports.
The Chilean arrived last winter with several sections of the media stating huge wages were offered to secure his signature.
The former Arsenal man has failed to fully kick off his career at United as of yet but it appears he could be cause off the problems and not just on it.
Sanchez’s current deal has left the rest of the squad, in particular De Gea and Martial’s agents, looking for an increase in pay.
The club are currently rushing around attempting to tie down their stars as several of their contracts expire next summer with clubs from abroad allowed to engage contact as early as this winter.
According to Football365, the Sunday Mirror report that the Red Devils are concerned Alexis’ contract has David and Anthony playing hardball with the £400k a week figure being used as a benchmark for future deals.
It’s no surprise such a thing has happened which is why most clubs tend to have set figures they’re unwilling to break for anyone.
However, the reported £300k a week De Gea is asking for and the £140k a week Martial is asking for is hardly unfair given the current market.
