Paul Pogba has admitted that he is still in touch with a number of his former-Juventus teammates.
The French midfielder has been frequently linked with a move back to the Turin club as speculation builds over his future at Manchester United.
His relationship with manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly strained and Pogba was stripped of the vice-captaincy recently. Although things have calmed down recently, rumours of a move to Juventus, FC Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain remain regular.
Pogba has revealed that he still sees Turin, the city of Juventus, as ‘home’ and that he still talks to the players of the Old Lady.
United travel to Juventus next week in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
“I expected it, it was mad,” Pogba said of the fact United and Juventus are playing each other, while speaking to RMC.
“I’d spoken about it with my brother last summer. I said to him: ‘Imagine we’re in the same group as Juve.’
“For me, it’s a pleasure. Turin is my home — that’s where I scored my first professional goal.
“[Juan] Cuadrado, [Paolo] Dybala, [Leonardo] Bonucci … I hear from them, we speak from time to time. We were a family, so of course we stay in contact.”
It’s not a huge surprise that Pogba still speaks to some of his ex-teammates. It’s hardly in Pogba’s character to forget all about his friends from another club. While at Juventus, he maintained contact with teammates that he’d had at the Man United academy, such as Jesse Lingard.
