Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has revealed what he told his players at half-time during their clash against Bournemouth.
They were tied at 1-1 at the time but the Portuguese manager still told them they couldn’t have played worse than they did in the first half.
Though it was a little harsh, it clearly worked with the United players playing fiercely in the second half to eventually win 2-1 at the death.
Mourinho did compliment them however and was encouraged by their second half display as they picked up an important three points.
The truth is, though fans would love to see brilliant football from the Red Devils, it’s actually more important to ensure they pick up as many points as possible to get back to the higher end of the table.
Mourinho: “I start positive (at h/t) by saying it’s impossible to play worse than we did. The team performed much better. I was happy bringing Ander to the game. I felt the team needed a player like Ander to give us balance and to recover the ball faster.” #mufc [BT]

Manchester United’s win helps them up to seventh place but until they’re back in the Champions League spots, Jose’s job won’t be safe.
Though there was initially hope the former Chelsea manager could somehow put together a title challenge this season, it’s clear that would take some work to do now.
There is still some time before the season ends and things do change fast in football but it would take some miracle for United to be champions this season.
