Manchester United star Matteo Darmian is reportedly set to be involved in a bidding war between two Serie A giants this winter transfer window.
The Italian was widely expected to leave during the past summer but it was said that no club put in a serious offer for him.
United were seemingly fed up of buying expensive and selling cheap and so held firm when it came to the full-back’s potential sale.
However, it seems the Serie A clubs have not forgotten about Darmian and are still hoping to lure him away from Old Trafford in January.
The former Torino man has hardly had any playing time this season and is remaining patient until a respectable bid comes in for him.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils have spoken to Inter Milan and Roma who are both interested in signing Matteo in January and Jose won’t stand in his way if he wishes to leave.
The versatile defender was a true professional over the summer as he refused to kick up a fuss to leave though he did admit a desire to return to his homeland.
Unfortunately no one seemed serious enough in their efforts to sign him but perhaps they can make amends this winter.
