Eden Hazard admits he is suffering from tiredness after Chelsea’s goalless draw with Everton, but is enjoying his football at the same time.
The Blues could only earn a point at home to Marco Silva’s side on Sunday afternoon, losing ground in the Premier League title race.
Hazard, arguably the league’s outstanding player so far this season, was quieter than we have seen of late, failing to inspire his side to victory at Stamford Bridge.
In an interview with talkSPORT after the final whistle, Hazard opened up about fatigue, but almost contradicted himself in admitting he feels good at the same time:
Believe me, I am tired!
But I think I’m in good condition to play.
Last year I got an injury with my ankle for three months. So that’s why I’m fresh now.
And when you are happy on the pitch you can try some things. I’m just enjoying myself.
Chelsea’s stalemate on Sunday means they drop to third in the table, two points behind Liverpool and four adrift of leaders Manchester City.
Such is the relentless pace City are setting this season, any kind of slip-up feels potentially fatal.
In Hazard, Chelsea have a genuinely world-class talent, however, and his influence holds the key to them remaining in the title battle.
