Nabil Fekir came incredibly close to signing for Liverpool in the summer, but with Chelsea the new favourites, it seems the Frenchman could be on the move again at the end of this current season.
Reports in L’Equipe suggest that the Lyon captain is expected to be sold this summer, before entering the final year of his contract, which is set to expire at the conclusion of the 2019/20 campaign.
To wait until then to sell the 25-year-old would greatly diminish his value, and eccentric club president Jean-Michel Aulas will likely cut ties with his prize commodity in the summer.
Liverpool may yet choose to re-enter the race for the World Cup winner, although all reports from Merseyside suggest there is no current interest in signing Fekir.
Competition could be rife for Fekir though, if teams decide they are not overly concerned about the knee injuries that initially put Jürgen Klopp’s side off from signing him.
