Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi in the summer and reports are linking the Blues to the forward once again.
The Argentine is one of the most in-form strikers in world football at the moment and is on the radar of various top European clubs.
The forward has managed to find the back of the net seven times in the Italian Serie A this season, whilst also netting three times in four UEFA Champions League group matches.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is understood to be a keen admirer of Icardi and could make a move for him in the January transfer window.
As quoted on Football London, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who knows Sarri very well, said:
I offered 55-60 million, I do not remember. I met his wife, very nice. We spent an afternoon together, we negotiated a potential contract.
Icardi is a champion, he could become a new Ronaldo, in the hands of Sarri he could make 40 goals.
Icardi looks unlikely to move in January but Sarri could push to sign the 25-year-old in the summer.
