It’s not a particularly well-kept secret – Chelsea want Alex Sandro.
The left-back was the subject of a £52 million bid in the summer of 2017, where the Blues were rebuffed by Juventus.
However, even with a new manager in place, Chelsea are not giving up.
Maurizio Sarri has introduced an electrifying brand of attacking football to Stamford Bridge, with an emphasis on marauding full-backs.
Marcos Alonso has appeared to be replaceable at times, and Sarri seems eager to bring in some competition for the Spaniard.
Sandro joined Juventus from Porto in 2015, and has established himself as one of the premier left-backs in world football over the last few seasons.
The 27-year-old is keen to make the move to the Premier League, perhaps captivated by Chelsea’s prior interest.
Quoted by The Express, Sandro said:
I think, one day, who knows what will happen?
I have a desire to play in the Premier League but right now I am very happy where I am at, the club I am at [Juventus], the league I am playing in,
So today my only thought is to continue where I am because that’s where I feel happy.
Chelsea are reportedly facing a two-year transfer ban for certain improprieties, and are consequently keen to push any move for Sandro through in January.
