Jose Mourinho has revealed that Romelu Lukaku is injured for Wednesday’s clash with Juventus and could miss the Manchester derby on Sunday.
The Belgian, who has gone over 800 minutes without a goal, missed out on last weekend’s 2-1 win over AFC Bournemouth after picking up an injury in training.
He has not travelled with the Manchester United squad to Turin, providing either Alexis Sanchez or Marcus Rashford with the chance to impress in the No.9 role.
And the boss, speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, has revealed that Lukaku was a doubt to face Manchester City.

Injuries never come at a good time but perhaps Lukaku, following a nasty couple of months, will come back from this injury with a vital spring in his step – a sense of raw hunger which can make him so explosive going forward.
The striker had entered something of a rut at United and United, correspondingly, had entered one themselves with Lukaku flailing up front. And since his removal from the starting XI they have impressed going forward at points against Everton and AFC Bournemouth. United, at the very least, will benefit from having to contemplate life without Lukaku.
That said, they will need to be perfect going forward from the first to have a chance against the Serie A champions.
