Chelsea and Roma want to sign Daniele Rugani in the January transfer window, according to reports, but Juventus are believed to be keen on retaining the defender’s services.
The Italy international was a top defensive target for Maurizio Sarri during the summer transfer window, but Juve opted to refuse offers for their defender.
According to fresh claims from Calciomercato, the Blues remain interested in a deal for the Juventus star, but Massimiliano Allegri’s side do not want to sanction the sale.
Rugani is one of the world’s most coveted central defenders and a host of clubs across Europe have been linked with signing him, including Chelsea, Roma and AC Milan.
However, it seems a mammoth offer would be required from potential suitors to tempt Juve into allowing the centre-back to depart midway through the domestic campaign.
Rugani, 24, has made only two starts in Serie A this season and could be keen to secure regular first-team game-time elsewhere.
