Manchester United players are increasingly angered by massive attacks and rants from the club’s former players.
The Mirror report that some Man United players feel hurt by accusations and comments from ex-Reds who are now pundits, such as Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes on BT Sport as well as Gary Neville on Sky Sports.
Scholes and Ferdinand, in particular, have made accusations of a lack of effort from the United squad on a number of occasions and no player has avoided the wrath of the BT Sport pair.
United’s players, according to The Mirror, feel that such criticism has been excessively personal and believe accusations that they are not trying their hardest and don’t care about the club are wrong and upsetting.
It has looked on many occasions as if United’s players have lacked the required effort. However, as many ex-footballers say, it’s very rare for a player to intentionally try less. It may be due to a lack of motivation.
As footballers at United, though, they have to have thick skin to survive the constant pressure and criticism. Whether it’s from Ferdinand and Scholes or a random pundit, they have to try and ignore it or use it as motivation.
