Manchester United star Paul Pogba has admitted he was lucky with his penalty in the 2-1 win against Everton at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman managed to grab the opening goal of the match nonetheless after he pounced on the rebound from his penalty to spare his blushes.
The midfielder has a notoriously slow method of taking his penalties and has technically missed his last two efforts.
Nonetheless Pogba got United off to a winning start and the three points was all that mattered given how the table currently looks.
Jose Mourinho’s men are currently mid-table and need to go on a long winning run in order to climb back into the Champions League qualification spots on the table.
Speaking after the match Paul said: “I was lucky with the penalty. Goalkeepers are starting to know my penalties so I might have to change.”
The former Juventus man had a mixed game in truth after it was his error that allowed Everton to get into the Red Devils box which led to Chris Smalling giving away a penalty.
Mourinho’s men thankfully held on for the win but could’ve made matters easier on themselves had they pressed on rather than relaxed after Anthony Martial gave them a two goal lead.
Pogba was otherwise as instrumental as he normally is though his manager will be hoping to see a more complete performance.
