A number of players in the Manchester United squad have lost faith in manager Jose Mourinho and believe that he’ll be sacked soon.
The Mirror reports that a source close to Man United’s dressing room has indicated a lack of trust in Mourinho from the players.
The Reds have had their worst ever start to a Premier League season since the competition began in 1992. Three losses in their opening seven games has left Mourinho open to huge criticism.
United’s players have been dismayed by the manager’s ability to blame anyone but himself for the poor results. After last weekend’s humiliating 3-1 defeat to West Ham away from home, Mourinho cited refereeing mistakes and criticised his own players.
He was right to make clear that his players’ performance was not good enough. However, his willingness to throw his players under the bus has left him refusing to take the blame himself on
The Mirror suggest that United’s players remain keen to work hard with Mourinho and try turn things around despite some wanting him to be sacked.
It is a report that is very much on the side of the United players. The source in the Mirror is careful not to say that the players are not working hard, as that would make them look bad. However, simply the fact that something along these lines has been leaked shows that the dressing room is divided.
