Manchester United’s descent into chaos and failure this season has prompted supporters to take a serious look at those making the decisions at their club.
General antipathy towards the Glazer family has spiked, but it has been Ed Woodward, chairman since David Gill’s departure in 2013, whose decisions and role at the club which have created the most debate among supporters.
An investment banker by trade, Woodward played a key role in the Glazer takeover in 2005 and has, despite lacking any football experience, overseen transfer strategy and the appointment of three managers in the post-Ferguson era – all of whom have failed in the eyes of supporters.
