Eden Hazard has openly admitted he still dreams of a move to Real Madrid but is willing to open contract negotiations with Chelsea, the London Evening Standard reports.
The Blues blocked Real’s approaches over the summer as part of their preparations for Maurizio Sarri to take charge and Hazard has been showing the Spanish giants exactly what they’re missing in the early stages of the season.
After helping Chelsea to yet another three points at Southampton on Sunday, the Belgium international made it clear that he was open to a move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the future but will not refuse talks over a new deal in West London.
I can talk now. If they come to me, I will talk. Maybe [it is a surprise they haven’t come to me yet]. I don’t want to say that I am not talking with the club or the owner. I am talking a lot with them. Real Madrid is the best club in the world. I don’t want to lie. It is my dream since I was a kid. I was dreaming about this club.
Hazard’s seven goals and three assists in eight Premier League games have seen Sarri’s side lock horns with Liverpool and Manchester City at the summit of the table heading into the second international break of the campaign.
The 27-year-old’s consistent form has also earned him a place amongst the first batch of Ballon d’Or nominees announced earlier today alongside current team-mate N’Golo Kante and former compatriot Thibaut Courtois, who has followed his dreams and returned back to Madrid.
