Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has refused to comment on his club’s reported interest in signing Paul Pogba from Manchester United.
The Frenchman attracted interest from the La Liga champions throughout the summer and refused to rule out joining them during last month’s international break.
Pogba’s deteriorating relationship with Jose Mourinho has worsened in recent weeks and, according to reports, the midfielder now wants to join Barcelona regardless of whether Mourinho stays at Man United.
But Bartomeu made it clear that he did not wish to talk about players from other clubs.
Josep Maria Bartomeu (Barca president): ”I read these rumours, not just Pogba but a lot of players. Most of the teams don’t want to sell their players. The business is no longer to sell players and earn money. I don’t like to speak about other teams’ players.” #mufc [Times]

Nobody looked angrier on the pitch than Pogba on Saturday. There was one moment where Pogba, somewhere on the half-way line, was surrounded by claret shirts and looking for an option to pass to – some movement at the very least – only to see a bunch of pink statues. He turned away from them smartly, drawing a foul. That was all he could do, really. As he got up, the expression on his face was a look of death.
Even if Mourinho went and a replacement came in – even someone as lucrative as Zinedine Zidane – you sense Pogba would nonetheless lack belief in this squad’s ability to succeed at the highest level. Playing alongside Lionel Messi certainly feels like a more tantalising prospect at this moment in time.
