Victor Moses has revealed that midfielder Ross Barkley has been the Blues’ best performer on the training ground over recent weeks, football.london report.
The Englishman made the move to Stamford Bridge from Everton in January, but found his game time limited under former boss Antonio Conte due to a number of injuries.
However, now fully fit, new boss Maurizio Sarri has handed the 24-year-old numerous starts in the new campaign, naming Barkley in the starting line-up against Manchester City in the Community Shield and the opening two Premier League fixtures against Huddersfield Town and Arsenal.
And Barkley’s form also seems to be catching the eye of his Chelsea team mates, with Nigerian Moses recently being asked as to who has been the best performer in training.
Everyone has been good, everyone is working hard but I’d say Ross Barkley. He had a big injury but he’s started the season really well and he’s working his socks off.
Barkley, who was left out of the starting line-up against Newcastle last week, could well play a major role for the Blues as the season progresses, and may well be recalled against Bournemouth this weekend.
