Arsenal Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis will leave the club in October to join Serie A side AC Milan.
After weeks of speculation and contrasting reports, Arsenal have finally confirmed the news which many fans were expecting.
Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis will leave the club in October in order to take over as CEO of Italian side, AC Milan on 31 October.
It will bring an end to Gazidis’s ten-year association with Arsenal Football Club as he heads for the exit door at the Emirates.
“For the last 10 years I have been privileged to dedicate myself to this great club,” Gazidis wrote in his farewell statement.
“Arsenal is entering a new chapter and I have done everything I can to ensure that it is strongly placed to take on that challenge.
“This includes world-class facilities and outstanding leaders in every sector who carry the values of the club, including, of course, Unai Emery, Raul Sanllehi and Vinai Venkatesham in whom I have enormous faith.
“I am excited and energised for the future for myself and for Arsenal Football Club and I will always hold it in my heart.”
It’s a story which has been coming for a long time but it’s good that Ivan Gazidis’ departure has finally been confirmed. Now, the Gunners – and the news surrounding his future – can move on.
