Ampadu has put pen to paper on a new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge after impressing in recent weeks.
The 18-year-old is yet to make his senior bow for Chelsea this season but made seven first-team appearances last campaign.
He has also been capped four times by Wales and shone in their win over Ireland at the start of the month.
Ampadu is able to play as a central defender or as a holding midfielder, showing great versatility despite his age.
Chelsea have been quick to tie him down to a new deal, with the club seeing him as one of the next best stars from the academy.
