Manchester United fan favourite Rio Ferdinand has been busy praising Marouane Fellaini following his performance vs Watford on Saturday evening.
The Englishman’s former side ran out 2-1 victors in the end despite a nervy second half that almost saw them drop points.
Fellaini featured once again for United in his new look role as a deep-lying defensive midfielder.
Although the Belgian was arguably better in his last match, Ferdinand praised him for not shying away from a challenge or from pressure.
Marouane is known to have split fans’ opinions with some believing he’s not good enough to be at Old Trafford while others think he can be a useful asset.
Ferdinand on Fellaini: “Yes he’s not pretty to look at, but he’s effective. He’s a great professional, solid human being. When the chips are down he doesn’t shy away.” #mufc [BT] pic.twitter.com/VM4DzS1wF2

If there’s one thing that can’t be doubted then it’s the former Everton man’s professionalism.
He’s now played under three managers at Manchester United who have all complimented him for his top attitude and mentality.
Fellaini has always played wherever his coaches have asked him to play with no complaints and has never spoken badly about the club or fans despite the criticism thrown his way.
The midfielder was even booed at times by his own supporters and rightfully could’ve made a bigger fuss out of it.
Instead he’s continued to work hard- winning over his managers, the club’s fans and now even former players.
