Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has refused to rule out a potential move to Manchester United after admitting there’s always a desire to return to the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho had publicly made his intentions clear to sign the Welshman but things clearly didn’t work out in that manner.
There were different circumstances over the two summers for why Bale didn’t make the switch but it’s difficult for any player to leave the likes of Madrid anyways.
Given the opportunity to commit his longterm future to the club though, the winger opted to pass and admitted he misses home.
Even if the Real star decided to leave, there’s no guarantee the Red Devils would be the ones to snap him up.
According to the Daily Mail, Gareth said: “You can say yes and no [on returning to the Premier League]. You always want to come back and play in your home league and a part of you will always miss home.
“But I’m enjoying playing for the biggest club in the world and winning trophies.”
A return to Tottenham also seems rather unlikely but only time will tell whether Bale will return to the Premier League at all.
Manchester United’s need for a right-winger still continues after missing out on several targets such as Willian and Ivan Perisic.
Mourinho hasn’t been adequately backed in the summer and it clearly shows though the flanks was a lesser priority compared to the defence.
Signing Gareth would certainly make a statement but the likelihood of that happening at the moment is rather low.
